This podcast is an invitation to join the growing number of early childhood music & movement professionals encouraged by collaborative efforts to produce a broad knowledge base in the field. The author introduces music therapy to the Early Childhood Music & Movement Association and makes a case for engagement, informal and formal, between early childhood music educators and music therapists working specifically with children under age 5.

About the Author:

Dorothy Denton, BM, MT-BC  is in private practice in Mansfield, Ohio at Music Moves Studio. She is also a certified early childhood music and movement specialist and serves on the board of the Early Childhood Music And Movement Association (ECMMA). Dorothy has a strong interest in young children including those with developmental delays, neurobiological disorders, and hearing impairments. Her presentations have touched on many topics in early childhood, including primary movement, special needs, musical relationship, music and yoga, and the disciplines of early childhood music education and music therapy. Contact: dsd551@aol.com
